Online Subscription Databases


Note:  Many databases will automatically login when used from school computers.  You will need the usernames and passwords (available from the library) to access them from outside the school.


ICEPAC-Is the online card catalog for ALL libraries in the North Country. Please note that you must choose a library (or libraries) you want to search. I recommend that you choose ALL LIBRARIES. If you forget to choose, it won’t find any books. You may interlibrary loan books from any library on ICEPAC. Please contact the NNCS Elementary or 7-12 libraries, the Norwood Public Library or the Hepburn Library of Norfolk to order your books.

World Book Online-Is the World Book Encyclopedia online. Use the print option on the website. Using the printer icon on the toolbar will cut portions of the article.



Grolier Online- Online Encyclopedias and other databases such as "Lands & Peoples" and "America the Beautiful."  Please be advised that the default is an article title search. At the bottom right hand corner of the homepage, change to full text search. TeachingBooks  Contains author programs, book guides, book readings, book awards, thematic booklists and other related materials pertaining to authors and books. Made available through the St. Lawrence-Lewis School Library System. 


Careers Internet Database  Contains information about different careers, what education is needed for each, what colleges offer the major for each careers, what salary you can expect to earn in the future. It also offers a "career test," which will tell you what careers you are best suited for.

Exploring Nature Educational Resource  Provides educational resources, programs and activities about natural science and nature studies for students and faculty.
